I have a 684 I just put a new clutch pressure plate in now it doesn"t want to release I have adjusted the rod I can hold the brake down with clutch in and it will stop and it will pull when clutch is released it just acts like clutch disc is tight on pressure plate I put shims between flywheel and pressure plate it seemed to help some

Hi Peter, did you mark the old clutch disk as to which side was facing the flywheel and which side faced the pressure plate and installed the new clutch disk in the same way. IIRC the side of the clutch disk with the springs exposed the most faces the pressure plate. I don't recall there being any adjustment on the pressure plate fingers. The only adjustment was on the clutch pedal rod.
Did you install the clutch disk and pressure plate on the transmission and PTO shafts and then connect the transmission part back to the engine and then attach pressure plate to flywheel through clutch inspection hole? If not there is a possibility of bending clutch disk paddles.

Maybe someone else can add some additional help.

the clutch disc was marked fly wheel side. the pressure plate had some adjustment where the fingers pull the plate out. I did slide the pressure plate and clutch disc on transmission before I put the bolts in I had a local clutch repair shop to fix it for me I have bought several from them never any problems i am ready to take it to them to see if they can figure something out if there is a problem with pressure plate or disc
