Will PTO from Farmall 200 fit a Farmall Super A??

I have a Farmall 200 that I am parting out, and I need to replace the PTO unit on my Super A because the big gear is broken. Will that whole unit slide out of the Farmall 200 and simply bolt up on the Super A and work? It has the shaft (about 24 inches long with splines on the end) on the inside that comes with the assembly when unbolted. I have tried looking up the part numbers and they are different so it isn't clear. Someone told me those PTO units do interchange but I didn't know if that was true.

Correct, that one. I haven't removed the Super A PTO
yet becuase I don't want to crack it open until I
know it will be right back together.

Best is to take it out and try it as sometimes small changes were made so the only way to know for sure is just try it.

Yeah, I'm not sure as I have never done it. Maybe someone on here has done it before or knows something so you want have to be trying out stuff and swapping parts unless you know it will work.

I would think that the gear ratios are different. The Farmall A engine ran at 1400 rpm whereas the Farmall C/200 etc run at 1650 rpm. The PTO is supposed to run at about 540 rpm, in the Farmall A about a 2.6:1 reduction ratio, in the Farmall C/200 about 3:1 reduction ratio.

The housing will work but not the gear. On the SA the gear has 44 teeth and the 200 (the same as the C) gear has 48 teeth. I recently replaced the bearings in my pto and cracked the housing trying to get the gear off the shaft to get at the bearing. These gears are hard to remove, to get the gear off the C, I had to split it with a torch and use a lot of heat, and it was still a bear.
