Farmall C regulator

I am getting conflicting answers on what I actually need for my 1950 Farmall C as far as the voltage regulator is concerned.
Do I need a cut-out relay or an actual 6 volt positive ground regulator like my 1953 cub?

I believe that by 1950 the C was changed to use a voltage regulator. If so, you should have a bracket below the generator to mount it and the light switch should only have 3 positions (O D B) rather than (L H D B).

My tractor has the original three (3) position light switch. regulator is mounted under the generator on the side of the engine. Not saddle mount on the gen itself.

First of all what is your # on the genis it still an original Delco. Yours should have the mount for it on a bracket like Jim says but as with all old tractors we never know whats been changed and replaced with what so start with the # on the gen then get the reg thats made for it. Car Quest has replacements made in USA.

I have a 1950 C assembled in January, it has a 3 position switch and a voltage regulator, I imagine most of the letter series had been changed by then as the conversion to distributers, switch and regulator started in 1949 or earlier I believe -- does not mean that every single tractor was converted by then.
