706 throttle

Drove my 706 home from a local tractor show and the only way I could keep the throttle opened up was to keep my hand on the throttle lever. If I took my hand off the throttle it would keep idling back. This is a tractor that I had recently purchased and refurbished and this was the first time I'd driven it other than the test drive. Is there something to tighten that will cure this problem. Thanks Larry

Remove the sheet metal in front of the steering wheel (far rear hood piece). You will see how to adjust/tighten it up. If the friction disc is bad/gone, or the spring is broken/missing you will have to pull it all apart and replace the parts.

Also, make sure the spring at lower end of vertical throttle linkage is in place. They often break and are missing.
