My farmall H don't have a vin tag most of the numbers are followed by a K the motor has a Q could any one tell me what year I have

Under the number 1 spark plug, there ought to be a flat boss with a serial number stamped into it. Tell us the number, we"ll figure the age.

Look on the flat milled raised area. Sounds like you just gave the casting number with the rev level.

Yes, what you"re looking for is numbers stamped in with steel dies, by somebody at the factory, not raised numbers cast in place on a casting.

Yep, that's it, 1947. Here's the rest of it;
FBH means a Farmall 'H'.
Q is the code casting letter for 1947, and you'll probably see all sorts of Q dates on various cast parts, for example 3.12.Q, meaning March 12, 1947, the date that particular part was cast at the foundry. The system started in 1931, with 'A'.
X1 means gasoline engine.

If that's the engine serial number posted and the K you mention is a date code and on most or all other parts its had a engine change sometime in its life. If that is the case you are out of luck on knowing what the original serial number was. If the engine was original the engine and chassis number would be the same.
