international 460

I just purchased a 460 international.The hydrolic system is making a chirping sound like it is oil starved.I don't know where to fill it or check the oil level pto works fine but hydrolics work slow or not at all. can anyone help me with this problem. thanks

My Farmall 460 does the same thing. I believe it could be caused by air getting sucked into the system somewhere. In my case, the seal where the shaft goes into the power steering pump leaks oil out & is where I would think air is getting in when running.

As for the hydraulic oil fill, well.... I ain't figured that out yet, either. Only had mine for about a week & the manual is still on it's way. Guess I'll be watching your post for enlightenment.

If this is the row crop version,Oil fill on those tractors is on the top of the deck there is a plate similar in shape like the shift lever base.Three bolts to remove after cleaning the debris out of the way. It is by the shift lever on the brake side of the tractor. Fill level is a plug on the side below the clutch about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way up.
