Is this an H rear wheel?

Great site! I have a '48 H that my grandpa bought new in '49 and farmed with it for many years. Until I got it, it had been parked in the machine shed for more than 20yrs. I got it running with very little effort and she runs like a top. Now to my first question. I am currently at the in-laws and the tractor is over 100 miles away. I picked up a tire/wheel this week, but to me it doesn't look like what I'm replacing. Does this look like an H wheel or will it work if it's not? Thanks.

No it won't work if you have the regular H cast wheels. That's called a double bevel rim. First used by IH not long after 300 and 400 tractor production started.

You need a drop center rim. Zoom in on this wheel and tire to take a look. That one you have is a double bead for later model tractors.

I have another question. I have the 12-38's that were on the tractor when I got it, but the tires are shot. A while back, I put some 14.9's on that I picked up crazy cheap, but all they are good for is rolling around and holding air. This newest tire is a 13.6-38. Of the wheels I have, which would be better to mount it on? The wheel from the 12 or the 14.9?
