Cub hydralic pump

gentlemen, have been working on a stuck cub for last 6 weeks, and finally got it running today. Getting a lot of blowby out of the crankcase, hoping it will clear up after running some. However the hydraulics are not working, do you have to prime the pump, or is something bound up on the Touchcontrol unit. Fluid level is fine, the lift, One point hitch, is in the up position and will not move. This tractor has not run in 8 yrs, and lift has been in up position. Could something in TC unit be bound? Thanks

When you move the touch control lever back and forth, do you hear the engine load up at all? If so, you've got fluid to the pump. If the engine doesn't load up, then no fluid is at the pump.

The oil level in the touchcontrol resv is up to the fill plug, and the engine does NOT seem to change/load up when the lever is moved. I have a 300u and Super C and am familiar with what you are talking about. How do you prime the pump other than fill the reservoir? Thanks

Where the lines attach to the TC unit, remove the top allen wrench pipe plug and see if oil is coming out there when engine runs. it may have some air trapped in it that will come out, then oil. If no oil comes out pull the pump and make sure the gear is on it. Not too unusual for the keeper not to be installed properly and the nut backs off letting the gear come off.
