986 gear shift

I wrote in a few days ago about the gear shift on my 986 hanging. To be more specific it is hanging when you go from high to reverse and vice versa. It wont hardely go into park at all. I have greased all parts of the shifter, even under

A long time ago dad was running my 986 and he managed to dump about 5 dollars worth of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters down into the shift lever recess in the cab. Got all that cleaned out and have not had a problem since.

Yup I am sure that is his issue... :roll:

If you have a cab, there could be a settling issue with the rubber mounts causing the linkage to bind. If no cab, check the linkage and make sure its lubed up and adjusted properly.

Probably not much help, but more help than the other answer.
