I have heard about the spark plug adapters so you can convert the original spark plugs to modern spark plugs. Will it benefit me that much? I have high domed pistons and a 300 head shaved to .110". Thanks for the replys.

I would not worry about it, I run resistor plugs on distributors and non resistor on magnetos. What plugs are you running?

If you had some sort of orphan or extremely antique oddball that used a size of sparkplug no longer available, then you might need a set of those adapters. Otherwise, the Autolite 386, 388, or 3116 will do everything your tractor needs.

I agree with the Rusty Man. If it takes the modern (to me at least lol) 18mm plugs the Auotolite 386 is near the original factory heat range I believe, while the 388 is a tad hotter AND I WOULDNT MESS WITH ANY ADAPTERS. If its a Magneto Id consider the Autolite 3116 NON Resistor plug instead. Things that can help reduce plug fouling (esp in a parade light use tractor) are to keep the temp up to 180 and more,,,,,,,dont run the carb any richer then necessary,,,,,,,,,use a hotter plug,,,,,,,keep ignition well tuned with good points n condensor and wire core plug wires......

I have a set of adapters in my JD GP. The threads were ruined in the head to the point that the plugs had been put in with J B weld so they would seal and stop coming loose. While that fix had worked, I removed them, cleaned the threads and loctigheted a set of Ream adapters into the head. ( got the correct thread tap from a model T restoration place) Now I can change plugs quickly without an overnight wait for JB weld to set up.
The adapters came with a chart of modern plugs that have the heat range and resistor -non resistor types. While I did this to save the head, I now have a multitude of options when selecting plugs including splitfire, platinum, hotter, and colder.

AC 87 or D-21 Champion depends on your use work or just play. Sure dont need any fancy adapters. My Bs with hi-dome run just fine with them using e-85 and have for many yrs they can set all winter and start and run just fine. Just started on that hasnt run since plowing garden last fall fired rite up has a mag.

I am running champion plugs. From what people are saying I wont waste my money on the adapters and I will keep he original plugs. Thanks for the replys.
