986 gear shift hanging

I have a 986 that has started hanging in the high low park shifter alot. I oiled it up and adjusted it but it still hangs. IH says the gear shift parts are not available?? Any body else have these same issues?

Could you define "hanging" a little better?

Did you lubricate [u:673cab085b]every[/u:673cab085b] moving part of the shift mechanism?

if you need IH parts look up bates corp in indiana, that is all they sell is IH stuff.

Ya may want to look at cab mounts . also pull the floor plate up and look at the linkage and see if it is rubbing anyplace down there . earlier this year i had to work on a 1086 and we had to put 1/2 inch spacers under the rear mounts so that the shifter would not rub. There getting old and the mounts settle .

I am greasing it all. It has a 4 post canopy, mounts are ok.
