D361-D407 injection pump

I have a chance to buy a D407 long block to replace
the D361 in our 806D. Will the injection pump need
to be re-calibrated or can I just simply swap the
pump to the 407 without issue?

My feeling is there wont be a problem just bolting on.Bigger ci with the same fuel delivery may give better economy or a liitle more power.I really dont know.Next question/issue: Is the 407/361 the same length so you dont have to change frame rails,or change other stuff....

Pump and drive assembly will work just fine. The 407 will be derated slightly with the 361 pump, but not much. Could be reset on a PTO dyno, or at next pump service.

The timing advance in a pump for a 407 is different. The 361 pump can be updated to 407 specs, though. (Mine was at last overhaul). It will probably work, but make a few less ponies. -Andy
