Would someone have a price range on the value of a 706? The tractor hasn't been run in years but has been kept in a shed. Serial number 11248 S Y

My mother-in-law would like to sell it but not sure of an asking price.

Thank you.

If the engine is able to be turned, and the tires are 50% and hold air my guess is 3000 if gasoline and 3500 if diesel. If it runs add 1000 to those. if tires are bad and as above, 1000 less. Jim

Kirk J, Paid $500 for a 706 back in the spring had not run in over 4 yrs.. sat outside...Didn't know if it was stuck, or what! 75% rear rubber but weather cracked pretty bad, tricycle front both tires passable at best! 2pt, 282-D Wiring system totally shot! fair tin work one missing part.
IMO Scrap price at best, It is a pig in a poke!!
NO way In Hades Would I pay over $1000, Can Your M-I-L walk out to it turn the Key and start it... If so them the may $3K or so, IF.....needs batt, tune up, flats fixed $1000 tops Just because it is You Wife's Mom! anybody else $500 or $600 depending on wt. Hope this helps!

Kirk J, don't listen to some of these guys who are cheap. Around my neck of the woods $2000-$3000 for a gas, $3100-$4000 for a diesel.

Here in So. Indiana, if it"s terribly rough, but still runs, about 1500. If it"s in "decent" condition about 3,000. Excellent condition, about 4500. Add 1500-2000 if it"s a running diesel.

We"ve got a 706, but it"s down right now. I"ve half thought about trying to get a diesel. It"s been a pretty solid tractor.

Well now that all the EXPERTS have given ya there take on this . Myself i would need to see atleast pictures from all sides a picture of the dash up close , tire size and condition , three point or fast hitch or bare back . Dual PTO or just a 1000 shaft out the back or PTO DELETE . AND THE BIGGY LOCATION of said tractor. I do believe that i am a wee bit better qualified on 706's due to the fact that i have bought and SOLD more of them over the years and farmed with them and still do . Yes i have bought 706's for as little as 650 bucks out of a DEAD ROW and i have paid asmuch as 4750 for a super sharp late model 706 German diesel wide ft three point with excellent rubber all around and have sold said tractor to a good friend for 6500 . So heres the deal if you want to get the max out of the tractor (1) first get it running and see what it needs and if it does not cost half the price of the tractor then FIX it . (2) Clean it up and give it a wax job . Today 706 gasses in running condition in half decent shape could fetch well over 4500 and a later german diesel could bring upwards of 7500 . Now on the LOW side a DOA 706 gasser as we use to call them a THREE STRIKER and that is a Gasser , narrow Ft. with 1000 PTO will bring 1600 as a parts tractor to a salvage buyer. If it has a dual speed PTO and DOA to me it is worth 2000 to 2500 and i do not care if the engine is dead and the T/A is out as i will bring it back to life and use it for awhile and it will sell on it's own and i will still make a grand over what i have in it . We just gave 2000 grand for a DOA 1850 Oil All Over with a totally junk engine and hauled it seven hundred miles . And just as soon as the block head and crank get back from the machine shop give me three days and it will be back in the field. Then ask me what it is worth .

A sincere 'thank you' to all who responded. The tractor is located west of Minneapolis about 100 miles.

I recently bought a tricycle gas fast hitch, setting in a barn for 20 years with original front weights and wheel weights dual pto, 3 point adapter for 1450.00 and got it home and put in gas and a battery and it started. I was amazed.
