c-135 in a farmall c

I just inherited a Farmall C & with it came a power unit engine with C-135 casting number on the block. Can this be put in the C & if so, are there any modifications necessary? I do not know duddly squat about Farmalls. With all the tractors I have, this is my first. Where can I find info on the power unit motor? Any & all info would be appreciated! Thanks!

The C-135 was the engine in a 404 which was the next generation of the C thru 240. I don't think much was changed mechanically from the engine back... still had the 4 speed tranny and no live pto. I'm not certain, but my guess would be it's a "drop in" fit. If it's a power unit engine, it [u:9f7fe05f82]may[/u:9f7fe05f82] have things like the hydraulic pump mount and starter that it may not be machined for or are located differently.

Last winter I put a swather engine into a super C and it was a c135. It bolts right in but there are a few things I needed to change. First of all the C135 didn't have a drilled crank like the C did so I had to cut the shaft of about an inch and I got a bushing machined to fit the fly wheel so it would take a bearing. Also the rad is different on the 135 so the easiest thing to do was to get another rad from a 140 and that worked out great. If you have any questions just email me. Erik.

To make sure Dennis does not order the wrong parts, he has a C which use a shorter radiator than the Super A1, Super C and the 00, 30, and 40 series.

I did something similar with the engine build for my Super A. I used a 140 crank in a 130 block. I cut the threaded part off the crank and the Super A flywheel was fitted on the crank at the machine shop, not really a big deal. Runs great.
