A. 130, 140 Side mount sickle mowers question

Did IH ever make a side sickle mower for the 130, etc tractors that had a short pitman on it? Looked at two of these last week and wondered if they were IH or another maker. If IH what would the model number be? I have a Alamo or Triumph sickle on a 2404 but didn't know if they made one for 140's etc. Thanks for your help.

I have an "A" with a # 18 highway mower that looks just like the one in THIS photo. Don"t know what the later version for the new tractors with hydraulics would have been.

Yes, in addition to the #18, I think they made something like a #19 that was for SUPER A and newer tractors. There was an article in the last Red Power magazine on these mowers.

The short pitman mowers were IH's answer to being able to mow up hillsides and down into ditches, before the advent of the balanced head mowers.

The A-22 mower was a side mout mower for the Farmall Super A, very similar to the one made for the Cub.

The late model highway mowers was the AI-23 for Super A, Super Ai, 100, 130, 140 tractors. They made 23 series mowers for other IH tractors as well.
