Generator Output

If your generator is on your tractor you can check the charging voltage across the battery terminals with the engine at 1/2 throttle or better. Set your meter on DC volts. Should see
about 7 volts on a 6 volt battery and 14 volts on a 12 volt battery. Hal

Jim was already kind enough to post the link to my Troubleshooting Procedure and Hal has ya covered as well, so FYI an even sipmpler check is to turn the lights on and see if they get brighter from a slow idle to wide open throttle??? If they brighten up noticeably as the RPM goes up its likely charging. The gennys output is between its ARM post and case/frame ground, but an open unloaded voltage test there doesnt tell you as much as to what voltage it can raise the batttery as Hal pointed out.
