Early 806 side panels

Came across an early Farmall 806 for sale. Real early, 20XX serial number, RD injection pump, short cast hydraulic levers, fast hitch.

I would have expected the side panels to say "FARMALL" but they say "INTERNATIONAL" like a 56 series.

Any chance these could be original?

It just seems odd to me that someone would be abusive enough to destroy/lose the original FARMALL panels, but care about the tractor enough to replace them with ones off a 56 series.

The tractor also had 34" wedgelock hubs on the rear. Those aren't original either, right? AFAIK wedgelocks didn't come along until the 56 series.

Cant help on the panels, I had a 64 806 and can't
remember what the printing was. Mine was fast
hitch and had wedge locks 18.4 x 34. I bought it in
82. Mine was a row crop.

Going to work from memory here. Serial number was low 4xxx. The hydraulic levers were the same as my 856. I am thinking the side panels had Farmall.

Neighbor had an early or at least earlier 806 diesel. It had all of the early features other than flat-top fenders and he might have added the RH steps and converted the left to the double step, though. I don't know the serial number, but it was definately a row-crop and for as long as I remember it had "International" emblems on the side. I don't know why, or if they were original. It disappeared after he died 4 or 5 years ago. His wife had a jockey load everything and haul it away.

I've also seen a row-crop 706 with "International" sticker decals on the side where the emblem should be. I'm sure those were not original.

Dad's Farmall 806 is a '64. Farmall emblems are on the sides.

34" wedge locks came later. Probably were considered optional replacements by IH for anything with the 3.25" axle size when they came out for that size, though.

My early 706 diesel row crop Farmall has the "International" side emblems also and I like it that way.

I realize this is already a month old, but just for more information, ours (806) is 6929SY and is labeled F 806 on the tag and has Farmall on the sides. It also has the clam shell fenders. I was under the impression that Farmalls and Internationals were made at the same time and were slightly different tractors. I am no expert though, so I might be wrong.
