Easy ride seat

I have an Easy Ride seat for my BN.Does anyone know what seat came with that?A 2 bolt?or can I do any seat that will bolt up?I am trying to keep it original.

Whatever fits. The "easy ride" seat never was original. But if you mean the seat off an H or M it takes a 4 bolt.

Keep the 'Easy Ride'!A somewhat 'rare' aftermarket option is a whole lot more impressive(and interesting) than the "same old same old" factory seat that a thousand other tractors have...

The Monroe probably came with this pan. The 4 bolt IH pan will fit too. Your choice.

Something I know about. My Dad put a Easy Ride seat on a wd allis and it came with a cushion seat with a back rest and arm rests. I still have the Easy Ride seat but the cushion wore out and was replaced with a pan seat. If I look we have the date it was purchased about 1958 so maybe other people never got the cushion seat like we had.

As I think about this it wasn't really armrest but more like 3/8" steel rods the curved up to support the back rest. The back rest was a little on the low side and was not real good support but it was there. I think once I tried to make it higher but not with very good success.

I think there was at least 4 bolts to hold the seat on and it was not anything like a monrole seat or International seat as they had a vertical up-down mechanisim with a shock absorber and spring. I could post a picture if anyone is interested. cleddy

Original seat had to upright brackets then two leaf springs and a pan seat that hinged up so the operator could stand up also made getting in the tool box that mounted under the seat. Ifyou want to keep it original thats what you need. You can also mount an original one on the left side for riders lots of owners have done that. I have a set if you would want. 319-430-3907

I guess maybe I don't know anything about this after all. Looking at your pictures I'm pretty sure ours was a "Joy Rider" with a cushion seat. I spent hours riding on the fender/tool box(not a very comforable seat) of the WD Allis to involuntarily offer some companionship or maybe learning and Dad would knock the front crank knob up & down for some variation during a long day of cultivating or other field work. I will take some pictures.

We have a Knoedler seat on another WD tractor but it came on "C" Allis Chalmers. You have a large selection but I have another one that is not in the pictures.

I don't know about JD, but my dads 47 H with the shock in back had a padded seat, no holes. I probably put 5000 hrs on that H, long after the padding wore off. I think it was 4 bolt. I did have a 41 H with the seat probably installed later, it had the holes in the seat- I assumed it was replaced, although it could have come on the early models. In 47 the tractors were close to having the shock under the seat.

I think you could buy them either way. With the pan or use your own. One interesting note. The Monroe two bolt pans always have castle nuts on the 3/8 bolts. Probably Gov surplus. There is no reason for the castle nuts. The bolts are not drilled for a cotter key.

Here some different seats.
#1 & 2 - Joy Ride seat on Modifyed WD Allis Chalmers
#3 - International "C" Farmall
#4 -International "H" Farmall
#5 - Koedler Seat on WD Allis Chalmers
#6& 7 - Un-identified Seat I been told it came off
a later Farmall Regular
