Was at the neighbor lady's tonite sharpening her lawn mower blades and noticed a small box in her trash can, so pulled it out and it's a 365 998 R91, pumping unit and adapters for engine operated tire pumps. Would like to see a picture of the hose or complete unit. The box has the check valve and three adapters. She let me have this and a pile of new champion spark plugs, she's been cleaning her shed since her second husband went to the rest home and I have been hauling odds and ends away for her. thanks chris

I had one when I was a kid and id never have another. I used the same SP port and after awhile, when I started my 20 it would foul out on that port, I would have to hold the plug wire away from the plug a tiny bit for awhile till the hotter spark made it run alright. U couldn't give me one of them now. Maybe shooting a squirt of oil in the port before installation would have helped. Don't know.

I had one once.It was SLOW. kept it in the picup tool box for those 'emergency' repairs.Never used it.It may still be around here somewhere......

That reminds me of a story told by the old fellow who lived down the road a ways. Walked out to the field one morning after chores and found the tractor with a slow leaker that was now flat rear tire.
He walked home and got his spark plug tire pump.
Attached it to a plug hole and the tire valve then started the tractor. After a while he could not see much progress on that size tire, so he thought he had time to walk home for a cup of coffee and a cookie. Should be back in plenty of time. Had his coffee and cookie and left the house. Got about half way to the tractor when he heard the tire go BOOM. The pressure rises pretty quick when the initial tire get full and standing up. ;-)

Yes, it was slow. But it was a whole lot quicker than pumping up a tire with a hand pump and that"s all the farmers had back in those days. It would take 20 minutes of hard work to pump up a car tire with those hand pumps, so you can imagine how long it would take to pump up the rear tire of a tractor.

I have one that was never used.are they worth anything?anyone interested in it? I remember grampa having one that fit on the pto shaft,he put extra tool box on tractor so hed always have it with him, that way he never needed it.

(quoted from post at 05:14:46 07/22/13) Here is another air option. I know it is not what was asked for, but thought I would share:

Dad had one of these from John Deere. It was long after I was gone from home that he got an actual compressor. Seems a lot of things he got after I was gone, manure loader, motorcycle.

Dad used one of these pumps with an 8N, it was the only tire pump he ever had. As I remember ours had a brown and black fabric covered hose, the pressure gage was tee'd in the hose some 3 feet from the spark plug adaptor and another 10 -15 feet of hose to the tire valve connector. I remember driving the tractor around to pump up all the tires when ever the pump was installed on the tractor.

The items in the picture are pieces I found in the old shop, however I believe it was a replacement to dad's since the hose is a different color.

The adapator replaces one spark plug and has three different size threads, the smallest being 14mm. The pressure gage reads to 80 Psi and was manufactured by Schrader. The connection the tire valve (not shown) was a thread on fitting similar to the fitting used at the adaptor. The hose piece is 3/8" OD and the ID is a little under 1/4".
