300 belt pulley seal

Trying to replace the seal on my belt pulley of my 300rc. Can I just remove the shaft that has the pulley on it from the unit while it is still mounted on the tractor? I removed the three bolts and got it to move out about a half an inch but no further. I am going to remove the other plate on the front of the unit to see if I can access the retaining nut from there. Thanks!

Just pull harder; the shaft will come out.

If it is like a W9 pulley drive one of the bolts that hold it down will catch the inner bearing. Loosen it, lift it up and kick of to side, the fuel tank will not let you remove it all the way. The main shaft then should slide out.
