Oil Color in Tranny

Nda

I was checking the transmission oil level in a '45 B. The oil color that came out was unlike anything I have ever seen before. At best it was a light cream color. I have never seen gear oil this type of color before. Has anybody ever seen a color of gear oil like this before? I have a fear that the oil color has been changed due to water and rust.

Water does that, even just condensation inside the case will do it over time. If you work it, warm it up and then recheck it will improve some. If you drain it, and replace it, the new oil will turn cream collared too.

Last A that i bought i drained old stuff out and it was light colored thinking it has moisture now that it has set moisture is not a problem its the color of what was in the tranny as no water ever showed up.
