What holds the right angle drive pulley on the right angle splines? Is there not a bolt or set screw to keep it from coming off?

The right angle drive is on a 1979 farmall 140. I have the pto pully and the center adjustment in the pully but see no way to secure the pully to the shaft.

Thanks

The end of the pulley shaft should be tapped 7/16"-20 NF for a matching 1" long capscrew. Also, use a lockwasher and an appropriate flatwasher. The part # for the official flat washer is 43262DA, but no dimensional data comes up on the consumer site.

Addendum:
"Dave" nailed it as far as attaching your aftermarket pulley with the tapered hub is concerned.

The hole in the end of the shaft is not more than 1/4 or 5/16 at the most and I do not see any threads inside. I will have a better look, might be full of dirt. The pulley that I am using is for a woods belly mower and fits the shaft fine.

Thanks

If you are trying to get the woods mower pulley to stay on the shaft, the piece inside the spoked pulley is tapered as is the hole in the pulley. There should be 2 small bolts to tighten and clamp it to the shaft

I looked at thnr pulley and adapter again and it has 6 bolts in the adapter. Three are threaded into the pulley and three are threaded into the adapter. Which ones do you tighten to secure the adapter to the shaft? The adapter is stamped Browning p 11-1/8 6 spline

To clamp the assembly in place on the shaft, use bolts inserted through the unthreaded holes in the adapter/hub and thread them into the pulley, and snug them down evenly, moving from one to the next "til the adapter/hub is drawn tight into the pulley and clamps firmly on the shaft.

Bolts can be screwed into the 3 holes in the adapter/hub that ARE threaded to SEPARATE the pulley and adapter for removal, if ever required.

I put one of these on a Super A about 20 years ago and have since sold the mower to my SIL. So, from memory which isn't that good, you use three bolts to clamp the 2 piece pulley to the shaft. I think its bolts thru the pulley into the threaded holes in the hub but it may be the other way around. The threaded holes in the other piece are used to force the pieces apart when you want to take the pulley off the shaft. I'm going over to SIL tonight and I'll take a look at it.
