I have one of those inexpensive brand engine stand. it says it will carry 750 lbs. will that hold my Farmall H engine?

Thanks

As per a catalog I have it says a long block for an H shipping weight is 300lbs so your more then safe. Even with all the extra parts there is no way it will come close to that 750lbs

i would think an h engine is around 400 lbs or less, no flywheel. so should be no problem , but depends on the chinese welding though.lol.

Yes but be careful. I put an M engine on a 1000 lb capacity stand and it had all it wanted. Biggest problem is that the front end of the engine has no support and is loading the cast bolt holes on the rear of the engine. I usually use a 2x4 to support the front end, remove it to turn the engine over and replace it. I used the same one for the 6 cyl engine from a 460, I think the M engine is heavier.

Thanks all for the replies. I thought I would be ok and I was going to block the front end up anyway.

I am replacing the rear seal now and then will put on stand to do front, etc.

I am posted a few questions about the clutch and you all have been helpful. I will post some pics of it later this weekend.

Thanks

It may weigh more than 750 pounds, I would keep it hooked to a good chain when hoist setting it on the engine stand to see if the stand will withstand that weight. Hal
