What does the flywheel puller look like? I might need to pull it off, just wanted to know before I try!! Thanks.

A medium to large "Pulley Puller" will do the job. Hook the arms through the holes. To get it the last inch or so, put a 1" inch socket under the screw.

Well, if you don't have the original Greb puller, it has 3 short legs, shaped like reverse "Z". Also, they bolt into the face of the flywheel, you should see 3 holes to do so. Lastly, I wouldn't use any puller rated under 7 tons, preferably more like 10 tons.

Make sure you remove the key pin from between the flywheel and the crank. Lastly, my experience has been, this is NOT for the faint of heart. The 2 I have helped with let go with a bang that would "wake the dead"...........

Absolutely can be done, and with moderate effort..........if the right equipment is used.

All you need to pull it is 2 pc. heavy angle iron
that will go across bell houseing drills holes to match 3 holes in flywheel. 3 pc. Treaded rod with nuts. Thats easy, It's putting back on that is fun! oldiron29

It has been on here alot! Nebraska Kirk has made a sleeve out of an extra crank Nut. From what he says make's putting flywheels back on much easyer. look in the archives for flywheel install. oldiron29
