farmall c float

I have a farmall c with a zenith carb. What is the setting on the float .I know if the setting is not right it wont start, and i am having a hard time trying start it.I have gas going to the carb, but the plugs are dry.
Thanks George

Are you realy sure your idle circut it clean thats why it wont start it dont take much gas to start those engines

Pull the air tube off the carb and hold your hand over the air intake of the carb and try to start it. You should both feel suction and also get gas on your hand shoot it may even try to start. If you do not get a good suction and or gas on your hand then you have either a compression problem or a carb passage still clogged up

Sure you can blow some air thru those passages but they arent clean at the bottom of the passage. I have found you sometimes need to use a drill the size of the passage and turn it with your fingers or using a holder and too many times you will pull the drill out and find rust on the end of the drill bit it does need to be realy clean for the idle mixture to let the engine strt good.

Hey old, did what you said, got suction and gas, checked the compression , and i got, on 1 and 4 about 100 psi, and 2 3 , about 90 psi.Is that good compression.
Thanks George

Ok so you have gas on your hands and good suction so check your spark it is likely to be weak and that means no start. Your spark needs to be a blue/white in color and jump[ at least a 1/4 inch gap. By the way if your plugs get wet that in turn cause a gas fouled plug
