I wanted to take the shifter out to check the condition. which pin do you take out, the one above the spring (which I was able to get out) or the large pin under the spring (which I couldn't knock out)? is there a trick to removing the shifter, heat/pb blaster/brute strength? I don't want to break anything. thanks guys, ~Anthony

Each end of the big pin has a cup plug over the top. poke a hole in one side and pop it out, then drive the pin out.

In addition to Gab"s directions, you may need to push down or wiggle on the lever to get a worn pin out of the pivot. There is a kit called : sloppy shifter kit that is available on Ebay. Those who try it are convinced. Jim
