Engine Wants To Stall

I have a Farmall 350 gas row crop tractor. In 5th gear the engine wants to stall if you don"t let the clutch out very slowly. 4th gear is just about as touchy. What is causing this to occur?

Sounds like a lean mixture; try opening up the high speed mixture screw (bottom one) 1 turn or so.

5th gear is road gear and unless your starting on a down hill 5th will cause just that to happen. You need to go from 4th to 5th and that takes so learning to do to keep from grinding gears. As for it doing that in 4th try choking it a tad bit. If that helps you need to open up the main jet a tad bit
