Allis Sickle Mower On H ?

I picked up a cheap , reportedly good working , and nice looking Allis #3 mower, semi mount type with a tail wheel. Similar to a JD #5 like I used to use on my H . I adapted that JD to work and it was very handy. Looks like this Allis should be easy to adapt too. Anybody done it ? Any problems I cant fore see? Thanks ~ Mike

You are right ! One of the most foolish things I have ever done was sell off my haying equipment about 10 years ago, now I am trying to replace it again. I thought I was done making hay, but here I am at it again ! lol

Should work. My dad switched from AC to IH with a Super M in '53 and kept an Allis mower much like what you described. Just bolted it to the drawbar and used it for 25 more years. :)

Shouldn"t be a problem other than the hydraulic cylinder. If the mower has the A-C cylinder on it, the Farmall hydraulic system runs at a lower pressure. You may need a larger diameter cylinder.

Thank you, it doesnt have the tiny OE cylinder like the operator manual shows, so it was either relaced or added on after the fact. The current cylinder looks more like a regular size but older one, so maybe that wont be an issue for the H hydralics.
