Data Plate for Farmall Regular.

I am looking for an authentic reproduction serial# plate for my Farmall Regular restoration. It would be nice if the place had the ability to stamp it. The engine and frame match but alas no serial plate on the tool box. I could even leave the plate blank. I just want a historically correct one where it is supposed to be.

sloroll,

We just bought one from a junkyard - even though the number does not match...because we wanted it to look authentic.

Nebraska Cowman got a nice reproduction (but new styles are flat) - it is in a posting on YT. But I cannot find it to link to it. (Gordon Rice has F20 tags, but I don't think he has them for Regulars... different wording and 4 holes vs. 2 holes.

Just FYT: new plates are flat... old ones were acid etched - so had dimension to them (that is why we went with a junkyard tag, though not the right numbers). I was told by one company, that you cannot get acid etched plates anymore due to laws about the chemical used - makes it cost-prohibitive to produce.

Here are pics of an authentic and a reproduction (available at The Fordson House website) for a Farmall Regular.

Thank you so much for the info. I have kind of a rarity as far as Regulars go, a NW I don't know of another factory one. I am not sure which way to jump. I appreciate the help.

sloroll,

Would love to see pics of your Narrow Tread with a wide front. My husband would too.

I don't know if this is possible...

BUT I had wondered when we were contemplating what to do for a serial tag - would it be possible to buy an old original and somehow fill in the stamped number with lead ... then get it re-stamped with your serial number? Maybe someone on this site knows if there is anyway this can be done or not.

Here is a post at Smoke Stak that shows what I started with. The tractor is being reassembled now and should be ready to start.. tomorrow? Then a sand blast and paint. Thank you again for your help.

The late Mr Deiner had the best tags available hands down. Myself and Mike Androvich worked with him for about a year. The other tags available on the market are junk when compered side by side with his. His wife still has them made since he has passed away

Geez, sorry... brain not working earlier. Tag is brass - not LEAD. LOL. Too much vacation this week.
