Heavy duty spring

I'm a big man, 6'1" 300 lbs, I wanted to get a heavy duty black spring for my M seat, will that be enough (with a new shock) or should I weave my old spring in with the new heavy duty spring for added support? thanks, ~Anthony

The black spring works for me, but I am about 50# lighter.

I once tried weaving 2 of the light duty springs together. That was way too stiff. I could just barely compress it.

Big Tone, How about a football set Vertically in the spring, about half full of air. Might be worth a try. Make sure you have a good Shock-Absorber too.

Better check your mounting hardware real good while you are messing around with it. My uncle was about your size and was harrowing or something and the seat broke off his M and next thing he knew he was riding around with his head bouncing off the ground with him hanging between the tire and the frame of the tractor. He got it turned off somehow and walked to the house and got help. I think he got by with a bolt poked in him and beat up and sore for a while but was okay. His nick name was "Tiny" and I think he felt like he was about 2" tall after that. cleddy

Here is a photo of a farmall C tractor seat where a guy got a shock with a spring from a ski off a snowmobile at a salvage yard.

I have the HD spring and wanted it a little stiffer
long legs, more room
under the bench, had a few sets of those old
towing load-leveler assist spring kits that go over the shocks on cars
very handy
come with cups and clamps.
cut a spring down for my SH, and installed one
as-is on the longer shock of my AC WC.
work fine, and adjust where the clamps are for your weight.
don't know if they still sell them, been under the bench for decades, knew I'd use em for something....
