W-30 @Scrap Iron Corner

Got the W-30 home last week-end and by 8pm we had it running on Fri. Clutch was a little stiff took it to the field on Sat to bind wheat for a couple hours. Brought it home messed around with it on sunday. Friends came by and got it for a small tractor display here in town and by the time they got it to the Fairgrounds the clutch would not release. any ideas why to start looking?

My recommendation would be to remove the belt pulley gearbox so you can gain access to the clutch. If nothing is blatantly obvious, then you can disconnect the drive line coupling and unbolt the clutch.

Thanks, I will probably start on doing that tommorrow. Took inspection cover off and noticed thatthere is a small gap in the clutch plate. Also noticed that a critter had built a nest in the belly pan and there was a bunch of dirt in there. just wondering if that might be a problem. Thanks

I had a similar problem with a clutch on a Massey 44. It happened quite suddenly too. I pushed on the pedal to release the clutch and next thing I know I'm moving again with the pedal all the way down. I found that a piece of the clutch facing had broke off and jammed between the pressure plate and the clutch plate.
