Super C fast hitch

I have been mowing with the sickel mower for the past couple of weekends. It seems to be running great. I wondered if anyone on here would happen to know what the engine rpm needs to be to get the 540 rpm at the pto shaft? I can tach the engine, but don't have a way to check the shaft. I have been running the engine at alittle past 1/2 way. Also, does anyone on here have one of the hooks to unlatch the stops on the fast hitch when sitting in the seat? I need the over all length and maybe what size of material it was made from. I am to old to be climbing up and down over the mower anymore.

As for the fast hitch unlatching hooks, the originals are 3/8" diameter. To get the length you need, while holding a tape measure in your hand, extend the tape to the latches(with the hitch all the way down) and that measurement will be the length you need to make your hook. Use cold roll 3/8" rod and don't put much of a bend at the end.

At half throttle,Your speed is too slow.To get 540,just a 'fuzz' under full throttle will be 'bout right.

You need full throttle for mowing as thats when the pto will be running 540. Now if the input shaft on the gov has a lot of wobble engine is not running full speed. Housing needs to be removed and have a new bushing there then it will run at full rpms if the linkage is set proper and will make mowing much better.

My latch hook is just a little longer than a hay hook, lift the hitch, pull the latch, lower it, and drive away. The short one really works fine for me.
