IH 300 U 6v Starting problems

Turn the key tick tick tick

Switched out the battery w 8N
8N starts right up IH nothing

Ck"d power from solenoid There"s power

I can hand crank IH starts right up runs great

What"s the problem ignition, starter ??

I would say you should check your connections at the battery and the other ends of the cables. pay more attention to the grounds.

Tick tick tick says bad solenoid or poor battery connections or bad battery cable. Takes very little power to run an engine but takes a lot of power or amps to be more correct to spin one over

yep needs new heavy gauge cables and good battery post cleaning.

Might really help to run the battery ground directly over to the starter mount bolt, eliminate all the rusty joints and bolts in the path, that causer resistance. Made a huge diufference on my Farmall.
