Do I need to remove the adjustment nut in order remove the brake housing? I think the left side is froze up (clutch side), right tire seems to move but the left wont budge. I haven't played with the brakes on my M or this MTA, im guessing I remove the 5 bolts, springs, and remove the adjustment nut, then give the brake housing a tap off it comes, am I missing anything? thanks guys, ~Anthony

I like to undo the bolt and tap the doodad off the end of the rod next to the clutch pedal pivot. There is just one bolt there and then a woodruff key in the slot, if you take it off along with the brake cover it is pretty easy, at least in my experience, and then you can decide to move the adjustment or not once you know what you are looking at.

Just had mine off today, nothing to it. Loosen the jam nut closest to the drum and remove the actuator. Take the springs off and then the bolts. should come right off.
My brakes were grabbing hard and sticking. Cleaned everything up with a wire brush and greased the metal to metal contact areas and the splines. Good as new!

Super MTA has DISK brakes. You guys are describing the procedure for band brakes.

You need to remove the adjustment nut and bolt, remove the bolts holding the housing, and it should fall off.

You got it. If it is all toast inside , order new discs and then take the cover to a machine shop and have the interior face cut smooth, then take .090 off the outer edge of the cover to make up for the wear of the cover and inner face.
