Hello, just curious if anyone attended RPRU last year and this years if they were about the same or if one was better than another? I went to Du Quoin's last year and thought it was great. Wasn't sure if that was the norm and read someone thought this years was disappointing and why?

Not saying that this year's show was bad, it was very good IMO, but I will say that LaPorte 2010 was better as far as content.

Wouldn't call any of them bad. Weather was better for the Lima show.
Liked another show they had in Illinois better than the last one there. Just my opinion and others may have a different one.

I thought that the display of early tractors was far superior than LaPorte, but that's what I collect so my opinion is slanted. Plus the building they were in was fantastic for a display in the summertime.

for sure Mike. I think we probably had just as many of the older ones at Laporte but they displayed nicer in the open building. No reflection on Chapter 33. We did the best we could with the buildings we had. I did like the tent we had at LaPorte though. We may try something similar @ Sedalia. One thing about it. Every year is different. DuQuoin had quite a few older tractors but they were scattered around and not all in one place. Kinda like guys need to do when they do not want their wives to know how many tractors they have. They look like a lot less when you can't see them all at once. All in all I was happy with the way things went. And the weather was perfect!!!!!!!!!!

i think there might have been a few more early tractors this year. and i think maybe more parts this year. they are all good shows.

Highlight of the show for me was I was lucky enough to be in the older tractor building when the owner decided to fire up the Titan that was on display.

Just like I love the sound of an F-20 under load, the sound of that Titan firing up and running was absolutely fantastic.

We all also need to remember that what is one display is mostly dependent upon who brings what to the show. each chapter can only do so much around "asking folks to bring stuff". Just a thought and comment.

Lima Show was good, but of the ones I've attended...Lima, La Porte, Mansfield and Penfield, Penfield was the best because it had more action activities including a pull. JMHO you understand.
