32K into a C??

The person is just trying to get his/her money back, it won't happen. I have almost completely restored tractors, including a C. Mine get about $6000 in them not counting the initial cost of the tractor. The C I did is more like $5000-I really don't keep track of it. For a C or Super C I would be lucky to get 3-$4000 if I sold it, more likely less, but I don't do them for the money. I really don't think I could get $12000 in one if I tried. Perhaps he/she is trying to get the labor back, or maybe someone else did it. Regardless it ain't worth that much!

I just dont know how you could put that much into a C. Heck I know guys building 400HP+ muscle cars from the ground up that get 20k into them. And that includes a hot driveline with a quality paint job/body work...

For some reason I never look at Craig's list on my own, as I prefer buying elsewhere -- I look at it more as entertainment, as you gave me -- Thanks.

Don't forget about all the options and restored equipment you are getting for 14k. If you figured your time, or just time tracking down implements and parts that all adds up!

I assume you are being sarcastic? LOL I mean we have a 2-14 FH plow, a couple of FH sickel bar mowers, a FH carry all, and a Super C snow plow all for our Super C and althoug our Super C is a very good, strong runner, is pretty good looking, and is 100pct mechanically, it's a $2800 tractor on it's best day, and MIGHT be a $4000 package with all the implements...ben said on here 1000s of times: No matter what ya dump in 'em, they are still only worth a certain amount!

I agree with you! We never figure in our time as we enjoy the time spent on/in them, and I learned the hard way that I don't usually take the paint to the level of what the car guys are doing, simply because we use ours some, and the one time I did a super duper paint job with automotive paint, I was too touchy about using the tractors, so now they get IH 2150 (in the case of the Red ones) paint with hardner after I get the sheet metal all straightened out.
We have never factored in the purchase price on this Super C as Dad bought it back in early 80's and used it well for years, but we put about $2800 in it; engine, clutch, pump, anything it needed. It is 100% mechanically, looks decent, and pulls like a mule on a sled...I wouoldn't trade it for that 14K tractor! LOL
The Super H got the same treatment, but needed new rubber too so including purchase price (yeah it was bought right) we have about $3800 in it. If that guy wanted to trade me his 14K Super C for it he'd have to give me the implements and $500 to trade! LOL

I think that may the same Super C that was for sale a year or two ago by the same guy.

If I remember correctly, he has come down a bit in asking price.

I don't believe the $32,000 either, unless he figures that his time is worth $100 an hour and he works slow.

I check out TractorHouse from time to time... seen some mighty costly one there too. Not to mention the Super HTA with factory diesel!!!
