IH 684 Wiring Diagram

Can anyone help with a PDF version of the wiring diagram for an IH 684. I don't yet have a service manual, but I gather from other threads in the history of this forum that there is no wiring diagram in there anyway. I don't want to do the free downloads as they all ask for credit card confirmation even though they claim to be free and I'm a bit of a sceptic. Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

Hi Jim, thanks for that, I went to the site and found one for the 84 series. Much appreciated, Stuart (Derbyshire, UK)

Hi Stuart,

Jim is correct that site has the wiring diagram in pdf format for free.
684 belongs to 54-74-84 Series tractors.

You are correct Operator Manual has a wiring diagram that is worthless. Maybe makes sense to UK trained Electrical Engineer!!! The best diagram was in our 454 Operator's Manual, my Dad loaned it to a neighbour who had a 574 and he died suddenly and family had an auction sale and manual was gone!!

Most wiring problems are caused by a bad ground or the molex plug that is under the rear seat. There is one ground by from of rad that is used for head lights and another ground at back of seat on a bolt that holds the deck plate on. Sometimes wiring harness gets frayed under the sheet metal cover over the transmission or under the deck plate that the seat sits on. Fuses rarely blow.

Stuart,

OOPS, I can take my foot out of my mouth now.
You may understand UK wiring symbols. I under stand mains and earth but there ends my knowledge of UK wiring symbols. So you will have the full Lucas system.

Good luck

Jim, your previous post may have hit the nail on the head, the plug under the seat. The problem I have is that I have no power up to the cab for the windscreen wiper etc, there's a plug at the back of the cab and there no power there so I guessed there maybe another 'troublesome' plug somewhere. Cheers for that.
