Just snapped the end off my PTO shaft.
Mine is the dual speed with 2 shafts broke the upper 540 shaft, can I pull the shaft and replace it from the rear or is the drive gear going to fall out of position?
Thanks

Hi Lou.

I believe you have to drain oil out of the transmission enough that you can remove the cover from the right side of the diff case to access the PTO shafts.

If you're busy like haying and need it bad , just put a 1000-540 adapter on the 1000 shaft and back your engine speed down to about 1100 rpm. That will leave your PTO at about 550-600 RPM If you are not loading to full load this works great for like mowing and will use much less fuel.
We do it with an 856 to mow with.

Hi, you have to lift the hydrolic cover to access to the 540 pto shaft. It have a snap-ring to remove and you change the shaft. The side cover is to access to the pto clutch roll-pin to remove the 1000 pto shaft.Bernard le mecano Quebec Canada
