farmall h bull gears

I didn't know they could be reversed. If so they are running against an established gear pattern that will probably cause problems.

It is common practice to reverse bull gears and the drive bull pinions at the same time. Did that mostly on the 4 and 560's when ever they were tore down and showing wear on drive side but it is same on all of those style farmall tractors.

If you want to reverse the bull gears you need to switch them to the other side of the tractor. I do it all the time when I have both axles out. If you also switch the bull pinions you would then be using the unworn surface of the tooth. good luck, charlie

I often get ahead of myself. I should have said switch them side to side, not just reverse the gear and put back on same side.

The M&W clutch manual I just got states that the pinions and bulls should be swapped from side-to-side if significant wear is present.

Do that and the pinions and bull gears should be good for another 70 years of use.
