12 volt wiring for 100

Okay. I"ve tried to post some picture of my 100 that is coverted to a 12 volt. It was running at one time (shortly) but either the coil or the points burned up because it"s not wired right. I know there are diagrams on the website but they are greek to me. (I have a degree in chemistry so I can"t be a complete dummy). so, what"s wrong with these pictures? White wire goes back to the switch. I would have gotten a closer picture but there were some red wasps ready to bite me.

I have pictures on my website, charliesrepair dot com click on wiring diagrams. I do not have any drawings for the 100 but look at ABCs.

From what I see in the pictures there is a resistor mounted beside the coil but the white wire goes to the switch so the resistor is not being used. You need to identify if you have a 6 volt or 12 volt coil. Post back and we'll help.

Yes, its a 12 volt coil. And no the resistor--the white porceline bar--is not used. It just has a wire dangling down from it. I don't know why. Just so you'll know, my brother wired it after I did the mechanical rebuild and he's not sure what the problem is either. We just know it ran long enough to drive it around the shop and when we cut it off--that was it--would not crank. This was 3 years ago.

You said that it will not crank, well that's a different problem. I would start with battery connections and then take a look at the switch that is mounted on top of the starter. The tractor has to crank first and then you need to check for spark at the spark plugs.
