Farmall H ?

I got a Farmall H today & I need some help IDing the motor. The tractor # on the bellhousing is71043,which I think is a 1941. But the motor has a dip stick for the oil. The casting #on the block is 2 25 n which I think is a 1944. The only other #are the motor # FB 157058. Also on the block above the oil filter is 6695 DE &3BB.Any help ID this motor would be great. Thanks

Chassis serials and engine serials match on the H. So the engine is not original. The dipstick could have been added.

Think you missed some letters before the engine serial number. But 6695DE is a block casting number for a H and the serial number shows the engine came in a 1944 H serial # 157058. Dipstick was added sometime after the tractor was built.

dipstick could have been added or engine could have been changed as original there was no dipstick. You used the pet-cocks for checking the oil level.

your engine may have been swapped out for a power unit engine. I have one like that. No petcocks, and a dipstick.
The original engines had the cast boss for a dipstick, so it could have been added, but since it doesn't match the tractor, I'd bet on a power unit swap.

Prefix before a H engine serial number starts with FB. Power unit UB. W-4=WB. I-4=IB. If the oil pan doesn't have plugs in the oil petcock holes a pan from or for a 55 model engine or newer was added. Maybe why they installed a dipstick. If I remember correct the power units have a different block casting number than the one you have.
