I've made a few posts about a Cub I'm trying to get running after sitting a couple of years. Reason it won't run is fuel system was full of junk and water. Carb has a lot of white powdery material when its dry. How does one clean that up. I haven't found any solvents that work. Hard to get a brush into a lot of places. This tractor had the gas turned on for 2 years but not a drop in the carb so there is lots of stuff to clean up.

Crockpot with water, dawn dishwasher soap and vinegar. Cook it for a couple of days. That has worked for me. Line pot with plastic if you want.
Works for me.

I just did a Cub carb the other day and it had that problem. I use a Dremal type tool to clean carbs up with and that works well. I also use a torch tip cleaner tool to poke out all the passage ways and spray carb cleaner and air

E85!! We just got a F12 running. Took the fuel pump apart and soaked it in E85 and let it sit. Next day put it back together and worked like a charm. Also take tar and crap out of gas tanks.

BTW wear some gloves as its hard on your hands.

Use the product that Old used or a similar one from about any decent auto parts store and let it sit overnight. The other solvents are not made to clean carbs.

We used a parts cleaner that had a basket in it with a handle. We let the carburetor parts soak in that. We didn't soak the float. We used a solvent to wash off the parts cleaner. Everyone used that parts cleaner and one day we could smell it and wondered who forgot to install the cover. When we checked the parts cleaner had eaten a hole through the bucket and was leaking out. I take the carb completely apart and beadblast with glass beads. Blow out the leftover beads, solvent spray ALL PARTS, and blow dry. Just like new again.
