Farmall Regular Value

Off hand without pictures and location my range would be about 300-800, of course depending on many other factors as well. I paid 1100.00 for mine 2 years ago in running order with 4 new tires, 1927 model. Mine is not totally original and not rare,no paint at all on it, but I love it and feel I did fine on the price..

Here in western PA, running and painted regulars start around $1500 and go up. Not running, not stuck, decent and relatively complete, are around $500 - $1000 depending upon overall condition and completeness.

Unless the you are dealing with a relative or good friend who will sell under scrap value, consider that the standard regular goes around 3800 pounds. At $12 a hundred avg for mixed scrap (cast iron and clean steel), that works out to $456 or approx. $500. scrap value.

$500 is a good starting point. Also remember your market for a resale is very limited with a regular. Potential buyers usually want some hydraulics. If you need a mag they can get pricy real quick. Carbs are also expensive. Even at $500 add a carb and a mag and you can be over $1200 real fast. Then you have $1200 plus hauling invested and you only have an $800 tractor when you are done. There are a bunch of them out there.

As deg(JED) says , the mag is expensive to rebiuld if that is needed, figure 400 or so, you may want to check it before making your offer to see if it is working or not. Check for spark and the impulse coupler snapping good and sharply.

Well, on the mag part, an F4 will also work but you have to change the coupler. Also, there are Fairbanks Morse ones that were optional, and are not nearly so expensive to rebuild as an E4A.

Honestly, the value of the tractor worth is what you are willing to pay for it. Like mentioned before Regulars, F20, and F12's are a dime a dozen. I personally wouldn't pay more than $500 or $600.

We paid $200 for ours - not running, stuck in fact with rotten gas tanks, tires and rims not to mention a few other things... but the guy gave us a deal because he wants to see his grandpa's tractor run again. (He could have scrapped it out for $400-$450 when we bought it 2 years ago).

By the time she is running (it is a leisure time project) - we are going to have A LOT of money in it. Would not be at all surprised if we come close to, or exceed, $2,000.

But we never plan to sell it, so we are ok with sinking some money and a lot of time into it.

And I paid $500 for mine and the Little Genius 2 bottom 14" plow that was bought new with the tractor in 1928. I bought it off the estate (grandaughter). Last time the tractor ran was in 1977 according to her. Her husband helped get it going for her Grandpaw's birthday. he wanted to ride it for his birthday.

Was dry stuck, but complete, and pretty much original. I would have paid up to $1000 for the pair, but the grandaughter took my initial $500 offer.
