I am putting a a under hood power steering on a 450 as tractor. the question is where does the hoses hook to the flow divider valve? my book shows the hoses but not where they hook? I have a line that goes from the flow divider valve to the bottom of the sump is that where it hooks.
thank you
Doug

I am not sure what you have replaced. If the 450 had no PS originally it probably has no priority valve in it. caseih.com parts diagram is a good place to start. Or put on a belt driven pump. Jim

it did not have power steering before. maybe I am wrong but looking at the repair book it looks like it has a priority vale but I may be wrong. my book shows a the same set up my tractor has.

I am not where my tractor is. The best I can say is that the assembly below is needed. There is a U shaped tube that is also required. You might re-ask the question in a new post to get more crisp info. Several have the tractor handy. Jim

364841R93 VALVE, regulator, safety, and flow control, assembly This valve needs to be there.

Thank you
there is a U shaped tube going to the valve I think is the flow divider valve. I may not be using the right terminology when I say flow divider. I will try and post a photo of what I have.

That U shape tube is probably hooked to the correct component. I cannot identify from pictures which port is which on the valve in question. I recommend posting the original question in a new thread. Titled-- "F450 power steering ports" The fact that I have been answering you may have reduced other responses. Go for it again. Jim

Pressure opening for the line to the steering unit is the bottom port on the Regulator and safety valve block. That's the block facing the fuel tank. Return line from the steering goes to the drain opening of the reservoir with a tee and plug there so the drain can still be used without removing the power steering line.
From the description maybe someone removed the power steering unit at one time and just run a bypass hose from the pressure port to the drain port.
