using 460 with draw bar

our 460 has the Fast Hitch, the manual says to pin up the cylinder when using the draw bar by installing the hitch vertical float lock-out pin, a 5/8 pin is to small and a 3/4 is to big, I can't find a 11/16 pin, will it work fine if I use a 5/8 pin or cause problems?

The hole is probably worn some. Either use a grade 8 11/16 bolt, or drill it out to 3/4. Loose is going to make oval holes and pretty radical looseness. Jim

Farmall 460 part #523114R1 but doesn't give size/dimensions. The 560 part #523687R1 uses a 3/4 pin and I have made several using grade 8 bolts. I haven't pinned the hitches on our 460s before. Any of our 560s you raise the cylinder all the way up and also have to physically lift up on the drawbar for the holes to line up exactly and slide the pin thru. You could also lock the hitch in the rigid position and is recommended if doing strictly drawbar work like pulling a disk, plow, or baler.

Thank you, had to lift with a jack and give the very bottom part a twist, it was 3/4 like your 560 going to pull the disk through our 1/2 acre garden tomarrow and get to planting stuff.
