IH 706 Won't Move Forward

I have a 1964 Farmall 706 LP. Just last night it stopped moving forward but the engine was running. Reverse works great in all 4 gears but I don"t have any forward gears at all. Hydro looks good and linkage is all there and moving. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Well my guess is something happened to to the shifting fork for low and high . So pull the floor plate remove any Hyd. lines for the side remotes if it has them remove the side cover off the left side of the rear end that has the clipped corner with the bolts that take a 3/4 wrench or socket . Ya had best set a bucket under there as IF the transmission is at the CORRECT level you will loose about one gallon , if it is over that your going to loose more. unhook the shift linkage at bothe ends and then remove the 3/8th's bolts . If it has a spring loaded park lock you must release the park loc. and place a 3/4 nut under the fork to hold it up , if it does not have a spring loaded park lock this is not required . use a stiff bladed putty knife and drive it in to the left rear of the top cover to break the gskt. It would help if you had and extra set of hands to help while your lifting the top cover off to catch the woodroof key and the rev. shifter fork as that is what is under that cover on the left side. Once the top cove is off i am sure that you will see the problem as either the shifting fork has broke or the roller and pin is missing off of the shift fork or the shift rail came out and the shift fork came off the rail.

Airforceb2cc, What is the ser.# on your 64 706? I drug up a 64, 706 Dsl. the other day, and was wondering how close they might be? Mine is # 9868! just curious.
