Farmall F30 Head gasket

Question for anyone who has used the microfiber head gasket for a Farmall F30 sold buy the Fordson house. With ths gasket do I need to apply anything to it to help it seal (ie copper coats etc) or do I just place it on the cleaned block? With the F20's I have always used copper coat due to the Metallic finish and the fire rings to ensure a seal so there is no leaks but this new one baffles me. please help.

I've seen those gaskets, so I know what you are talking about, but I've never installed one so I really don't know the answer. I think if it was mine, I WOULD use some type of gasket sealer, and Copper-Coat would probably be my first choice.

Alan, Like you I was not a beliver at first! But I have used 3)to date 400, 10-20 and C. I put copper coat on all, I have been very pleased no problems. oldiron29

Got one in mine, copper coat. No problems.

I always use grease on mine and have never had a problem.

Be sure to tighten them incrementally in a spiral pattern.

ok i will use copper coat do i use it on all the holes then or just the water ones?
