Farmall C/Woods 59 belt rotation

I mounted my brothers Woods 59 on his farmall C,however I noticed when looking from the top, the blade pulleys turn clockwise, however, my blades are designed to spin the other direction. I have included a picture of the rear pulley routing. I do not understand what I did wrong, or can do to correct it. Thanks

There's probably one blade rotation direction that will work with the deck. Are you sure you got the right blades?

No I am not sure if I have the right blades, but in the parts manual they do not state what direction they turn, and you can't tell by the picture.

Right, I had this problem a couple of years ago. There is a Woods 59 deck and an L59 deck depending on which side it discharges on.

They make blades that rotate the other way. That would be the correct fix for your mower.

Would I be able to tell the correct rotation by the thread rotation on the bolt that holds the blade on??
Also there are side cover on both sides of the deck, so I can't tell by that either.

you can buy blades and spindles for right hand or laft hand rotation
check the bolts that hold the blades on, they need to tighten up as the mower runs
you probably need to move the idler pulleys and cross the belt under the belly of the tractor to get the proper rotation
good luck

If the blade bolt have left hand threads, you have a left hand mower and the blades should rotate counter clockwise. If the blade bolts have right hand threads, then the mower is a right hand and you have the wrong blades. I think the LH would be the normal mower for a C. Go to the Woods website. The manuals are on there for free and you can print them. There will be instructions for installing the belt. I'm not familiar with the woods on the C, but have used a woods on a 140 for years. It's possible to get the belt on wrong and end up with wrong rotation. Did that once and the bolt on one blade unscrewed. Didn't mow worth a flip with the blades turning backwards! From your photos, it looks like your mower has yellow paint which would indicate a right hand mower. The left hand mowers are white.

Belt leaves front idler then to center bottom sheave left around front of left spindle back to middle sheave on the back side then around back side of right spindle around to the top sheave on center back to rear idler and around drive pulley. for right hand mower and like other post says you do have a right hand mower. There will be a twist in the belt coming back to rear idler. Your belt should be 225in long. Any B-225 belt will work. Your idlers are in the right position

For your info the way the belt is wound around the center spindle will determine blade rotation. There will be a twist in the belt whether it is a right or left blade rotation.

I removed one of the blades, from what I learned, my deck has right hand threaded blade bolts, so I have a right hand mower. The blade I removed if for a left hand deck. I guess I will order 3 new blades and install the belt the way I had them to start out with. I have included a pic of the balde I removed. Thanks

The spindles has right hand threads, so it looks like the blades are wrong, i included a pic of the blade that I took off.
