Power Unit starter

I am considering getting this larger power unit. Looks rough but the engine is loose. Missing a starter. Looks like it faces the opposite direction as an H tractor. Does it require a starter that spins the opposite direction as a tractor? Does the power unit engine turn opposite as a tractor? These starters hard to find? What is a restored power unit worth?

Yes, the starter will turn opposite direction than a tractor starter. Engine turns in the same direction as tractor. These starters may be hard to find.

If it is an H engine can probably get one off from and old 300 or 350 if it has the 3 bolt bolt pattern. If if is bigger like and M then off of 400or 450.

you can have a starter with the correct drive bolt pattern rebuilt to spin opposite, buy the drive might be much harder to find. Jim

Yes they mount different and thus the rotation is backward from a tractor. I have some from the U-2 power units is the same bolt pattern the same for yours.

The starter drive for a cub is the drive needed for reverse rotation of the power unit starter and t6 crawler .I had to build one for a project if you need more info I can help.
