Mowing with an A

I use an A and my Woods belly mower to mow around buildings, fences, etc. I had to take off the muffler as it didn't fit under trees.

Anyone else have to do this? It's a little loud and fumes me out. What are my other options? I thought about putting an elbow on it to run out the front parallel with the hood or just aim it at the ground below the engine.

Anyone rigged something up?

An elbow and bracket to hold it is just fine. Aiming to the left and a little down would also keep water out1 Jim

A simple 90 degree elbow just above the hood then off to the front would work well of a full 180 and down and under then a 90 so as to go out behind you

I have a Farmall 140 with a Woods belly mower and used for the same purpose - a few years ago I found a short low clearance muffler on eBay that is somewhat shorter and about steering wheel height which works for me, Hal.

Just be aware that the next guy that owns the tractor after you will take a picture of it, post it on this website, and we will all make fun of your plumbing project for days on end...

I had the same problem, went to the auto parts store, bought a 90 degree elbow out of the exhaust parts a couple of clamps, and pointed the muffler to the front.
